A full day psychopharmacology program on Saturday November 25th, 2017, providing psychiatrists, family physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and other mental health professionals with the latest evidence and newest advances in the treatment of a range of psychiatric disorders.

Based on feedback from attendees last year, we are also offering a new half-day of innovative workshops including Maintenance of Certification Section 3 activities to help psychiatrists to meet these new Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada training requirements. This first half-day (afternoon of Friday, November 24th) will provide practical workshops with clinical vignettes and case discussions to introduce and reinforce new treatment approaches to mental illness.

The second full-day (Saturday, November 25th) will include sessions from international experts of the University of Toronto, Department of Psychiatry. This year, they will provide psychopharmacology updates focused on Mood Disorders, Schizophrenia, Anxiety Disorders, and Substance Use Disorders in complex patient populations. The Saturday program will also include opportunities for case consultations and discussions with these experts during a “Lunch Liaison” session, where participants will select a table at which they can interact with a specific expert over lunch and discuss challenges in care.

Who Should Attend: Psychiatrists, family physicians, nurse practitioners, residents/fellows, pharmacists, and other mental health professionals.

Program Highlights:

  • Treatment Resistant Depression
  • Psychiatric Care in Pain
  • Practical Issues in Paediatric Psychopharmacology
  • Neuroinflammation in Psychiatric Illness
